Hope you're having a great weekend!

I pulled out an oldie but goodie stamp set, Big and Bold Wishes, to pair with some pretty digital papers by Wishing Well Creations called Aflutter.
Our latest challenge at The Hybrid Chick is a card of cheer. Maybe you can play along!

Thanks for taking a look!

Card Caravan Button Challenge

Hope you're having a great weekend!

I'm back with the next Card Caravan challenge, brought to you by The Hybrid Chick . This week's challenge is to use one or more buttons!

Here's my card:

Photobucket

I used Karen Lewis' digital kit Camporama . Aren't the colors and designs lovely?! I punched out some of the papers with my square punched and adhered them in this pattern after inking all the edges.

A Terracotta Tile button (Papertrey Ink) was added at each intersection, and I also added the little tag (Tiny Tags, Papertrey Ink) tied on with twine. The cardstock is also Terracota Tile (PTI).

I hope you'll check out our challenge and play along!

Make It Monday: Double Embossing

Happy Mother's Day to all my mommy friends in the US! Hope that you are able to celebrate with loved ones!

Photobucket

I made a card using the techniques shown in the latest Make It Monday video: double embossing. I used the In Bloom Impression plate and Mat Stack 4. I did "spritz" my paper before running it through, which helped quite a bit. My spritz was a bit heavier-handed then I would have liked. It took a while for the paper to dry and I wasn't feeling very patient, so I went ahead a heat embossed by sentiment, but as you can see, little fleck stuck in places they aren't supposed to be!

Photobucket

This is a great technique that I will definitely try again!

Thanks for stopping by!

Get Well Soon

Do you ever create a whole card and then really dislike it when you're finished??

That would be this card for me! I wanted to make something to enter the latest Make It Mondays challenge--to use a vellum sentiment strip. I had the idea to have several strips of vellum laying diagonally across the card. So far, so good.

MIM vellum

I heat embossed "Get Well Soon" onto the lowest of the three strips. I stamped the background dots. I cut the bottom part of the three layers of cs with Edgers #1. Sewed the bit together. Still okay.

Then I added a ribbon diagonally, thinking it would draw the eye. Don't like it.

And then I die cut and stamped the butterflies and positioned and repositioned them about 14 times. Don't like them. I couldn't get them in the right place, and I feel they are too big also. The last step was to color some gems with a Copic marker and add them to the card.

MIM vellum close

Oh well, it's a learning experience, I guess! This card uses the latest WPlus9 color challenge . (Kraft, Lilac, Turquoise and White).

Take Care

Hi everyone!

I made this card a few weeks ago, and never got the chance to share it. It seemed seasonally appropriate at the time :)

staff get well

My T1 Copic needs a refill (or it's broken, I'm not sure which), so I'm using C2 lately for outlining, which is a bit too dark really.

Thanks for stopping by!

Feel Better, Friend

Happy Friday! We got an early start to our morning, courtesy of an earthquake! Who would have known that MD is on a faultline??!

Here's a card I made recently for a good friend who broke her foot.

I used Friendship Jar and Friendship Jar Fillers, and colored it with my Copics.

Thanks for looking!
