With Sympathy

A simple sympathy card today.

 photo Joan_zps78d2ebf2.jpg

I was inspired by Maile's first card in this post . I used Beautiful Butterflies and the sentiment is from Birds of a Feather. For the inside, I used a line from Healing Touch.

Thanks for checking back in with me...I wish I had more time for stamping, but I hope that I'll get back in a groove soon!

With Sympathy

It's retro sketch time! Here's the latest Sketch, #22 .

I stamped my background using PTI's The Sweet Life in some A Muse Studio ink colors. The edge was cut using on of PTI's Edger dies. The sentiment is from Birds of Feather, my go-to sentiment for sympathy cards.

Photobucket

I impressed the Simply Chartreuse card base with the Linen impression plate. Added a snip of Fresh Snow satin ribbon and an Enchanted Evening button.

Thanks for looking!

This one uses Folk Art Florals from Wplus9 to stamp a background. The sentiment is from PTI's Think Big Favorite series.

Caring thoughts...

Happy Friday! I am waiting for Cheryl and Sherry to pick me up, and we are off to Cincinatti for PTI's Stamp-A-Faire! I'm so excited!!

Photobucket

I'm making a stash of sympathy cards for my mom, and this is one I did recently. I stamped the daisy image (from Friendship Jar Fillers) onto Fine Linen cardstock and colored them to look like Black-Eyed Susans (Maryland's state flower!). The card base is simply chartreuse. The sentiment comes from Healing Touch.

Have a great weekend! I'll be back on Sunday or Monday to share photos from my weekend.

Make It Mondays: Sympathy

Unfortunately, I needed to make a sympathy card this week, so I drew some inspiration from this week's Make It Monday video.

I decided to use some cool colors, aqua mist and smokey shadow, and do a classic embossed background. The stamp for the background comes from Waltzingmoue Stamps' Faux Fun. (May be my favorite stamp ever!) The focal image was created also by heat embossing the frame from Mat Stack 1 Collection and the sentiment from Think Big Favorites.

Photobucket

I stamped an additional phrase on the inside of the card which comes from Healing Touch Sentiments.

So sorry for your loss

so sorry for your loss

This was a very quick card...it helps when you start with such gorgeous patterned paper! The card base is Harvest Gold, the paper is from Restoration by Crate Paper, the other cardstock is Simply Chartreuse cut with pinking shears and Ocean Tides the ribbon is 1/8 in silk ribbon and the sentiment comes from Blooming Button Bits.

I've got two sick kids home with me today...off I go!

With Sympathy

Sadly, I've needed a couple of sympathy cards lately. I wanted to play along with Melissa Phillip's latest color inspiration photo, and decided that the soft colors would be good for a sympathy card.

Here is the beautiful photo Melissa chose from the blog A Creative Mint .

And here is my card:

With Sympathy

Unfortunately our next-door neighbor passed away recently, so I made his family a card. He was a wondeful man, always very friendly, and we will miss him. I hope that his family will find comfort in thinking that he is now reunited with his wife who passed away last summer.

Thanks for stopping by and remember to hug your loved ones!
