Last day of March??

I can't believe how quickly this year is going! I wanted to share a photo of some little birds I made for my kids. I ripped this project idea out of Family Fun magazine two years ago, but just now got around to making them.

I couldn't find the link on the Family Fun website, but here it is on a different blog . (Scroll down to the second project, Spread your wings). The project was pretty easy to make--just be sure to dry it overnight.

And finally, here's a peek of a card from my post today at Waltzingmouse Makers .

Wish Big

Happy Sunday!

I am playing catch up with our PTI Princess challenges... Pam used one way back to use scoring. Here's my card:

It ended up looking very circus-like, in my opinion. I used the polka-dot tab from Mini Scrapbooks: Tabs with the large scallop die, and the sentiment is from Big & Bold Wishes. The beautiful Label 4 stamp is from Waltzingmouse Stamps.

And a look at the inside:

Daffodils

Daffodils are one of my favorite flowers, as they signal the beginning of spring. We have some beautiful ones in full bloom at our house right now.

For my card, I stamped the background from Tin Types and heat embossed with white clear embossing powder. The daffodil was stamped, colored with Copics and cut out. I stamped the sentiment on the inside as the front was pretty full already.

Hope you are seeing the signs of spring where you are as well!

Thanks for looking,
Melissa

I stamped the main panel with Hawaiian Shores ink onto HS cardstock using Background Basics: Petal Power. The cupcake is from Baby Button Bits, colored with Copic markers, glittered, cut out and popped up on foam tape. I added a HS button and a little row of Hibiscus Burst buttons.

Happy Mother's Day

Yay...another PTI blog hop! This month's challenge was to use buttons--I used some gorgeous, new Hawaiian Shores buttons with Beautiful Blooms II!

Isn't this a fresh color combo! I tried to get a close up of the beautiful pattern on the largest button--this was the best I could get. (click on picture for an enlargement)

Easter

I have a couple fun projects to share today that are all Easter themed!

First is a banner I created using MKC's DIY Printable Scalloped Banner , one of my favorite things! It also uses a new product from Quirky Twerp, Easter Rosettes , and papers from Happy Little Easter and You are my sunshine . Some of which are on sale today as they are new releases!

I also made a fun little Easter card with papers and images from the kit I Luv U , by Mari Koegelenberg.

Hope you're having a great day!

WMS Blog Hop

Happy St Patrick's Day! I'm happy to be participating in the Waltzingmouse Stamps Blog Hop today. Since Claire lives in N Ireland, it is so fitting for her to host this themed hop! She also provided some absolutely gorgeous downloadable stamps and graphics, for free!! Find them on her blog .

Here is my card, which I sent to Joyce for our St Patrick's Day card swap. It's hard to tell in this photo, but I used the lace image from Faux Fun in the background.

Happy Birthday, Dana!

Today is my fellow PTI Princess Dana's birthday! Happy birthday, friend! Hope you had a great day!

I am late with getting her card in the mail, but here it is...had to use orange and leaves on the card!

I wanted to try a clear card as Nichole Heady showed in one of her posts in the last few days. (sorry not to post a link, but my computer/internet is going so slow!) Clear cards are fun, I'll definitely try it again soon.

Here's the inside:

Birthday cards

Hi everyone! Thanks for all the well wishes! We got better just in time to enjoy the rain-soaked weekend! I'm sure the sun will be out again sometime, right?

Here are two late-arriving birthday cards I made for two of my good friends who had birthdays earlier this month.

This card used Year of Flowers: Violets and the sentiment from Vintage Picnic.

The next card was inspired by Maile Belles' card here (scroll down to last card). I also used the tiny butterfly from Butterfly Dreams.

Thanks for stopping by!

A special card...

Today I have a card to share with you that was made by my five year old son, Colin. He loves to draw, color and be creative.

This is the original portion and then he decided it needed more embellishment!

I also have a project up at The Hybrid Chick . It's a fun box for St Patrick's Day using a template, digital papers and PTI stamps! You can see it here .

Happy Friday!

Soaring by to say hi

Or really dragging myself by to say hi...
I'm taking a short break from the throes of the stomach flu to show you a card I made using some beautiful digital paper that releases today at The Digichick . It's called All a Flutter , and it included many beautiful, spring papers and images.

When I saw this paper I realized it coordinated perfectly with Niki Este's new stamp set and die called Butterfly Dream.

Back to the trenches!

For my mum

Hello! I want to share with you my card for Melissa Phillips latest photo inspiration challenge, based off this gorgeous photo from A Creative Mint.

I couldn't decide if the blue in the photo was more aqua or light blue, so I just went with light blue. I was inspired by some of the graphic details on the papers and the beautiful pink flowers.

Thanks for looking!

Happy Birthday, Crafty Girl

Hope you are having a great weekend!

I made a card recently using the Embellish magazine's newest color challenge. Very spring!

The background is stamped with Background Basics: Tin Type and the spools of ribbon and the sentiment come from Studio Style. I thought I needed to add something under the sentiment, so I chose a beautiful little Prima flower, but I'm not sure it was just the right thing...

True Friend

Melissa Phillips has offered another beautiful inspiration photo from A Creative Mint.

Orange can be a difficult color for me to work with, but I wanted to give it a try. I am really enjoying purples lately. I stamped the background with an image from Vintage Label onto Vintage Cream cardstock, using Orange Zest ink. The sentiment is stamped in Plum pudding ink onto Lavender Moon cardstock. Everything is sponged with Walnut Stain ink for distressing.
