GSS card

I am beyond speechless to be chosen as an honorable mention for PTI's Guest Star Stamper contest!! You can view all the project on Nichole Heady's blog here .

Here is the card I submitted--it uses the same beautiful papers and similar layout to my Valentine exchange card . I stamped the balloon strings once, and then masked and stamped again so I could have more strings and a larger bouquet!

I sent this card to my Grandma for her birthday--Happy Birthday Grandma!

Thanks for coming by and Happy Friday!

Papertrey Princesses Challenge

The Papertrey Princesses' first challenge of 2010 was issued by Anya. You can see the details here . Anya chose this inspiration photo, and what a beautiful one it is!

It makes me wish I was more of a sewer! I took inspiration from the colors blue, white, green and kraft; the theme of sewing; and the blue buttons and blue ribbon in the photo.

Here's my card:

Little cutie pies

Baby Button Bits is so, so adorable! This image of the little pie/cupcake is probably my favorite. I made up a few while I had my scraps out. I'm not as thrilled with how my cards turned out, but the pies are cute!

Here's another card:

January Blog Hop

It's blog hop time again! This month's challenge is to dress up the insides and outsides of our card--"the total package". You can read the challenge here .

For my card I used the new set, Baby Button Bits to make a floral background. I then stamped the "Wish Big" from Big and Bold Wishes using Versamark ink and heat embossed with clear EP.

On the inside of the card, I carried through the same design and added the second portion of the sentiment. You can see in the photo that I also stamped the envelope.

I'm looking forward to seeing everyone's projects tonight! Thanks for coming by!

Valentine exchange card

Some of the people on the Papertrey Ink forum got together to do a Valentine Card exchange--how fun is that! Here is the card that I sent to Meghan. Now that she has it, I am safe to post it here!

I used Tiny Treats: Valentine, and some Crate Paper and Pink Paislee paper. The cupcake image was colored with my Copics.

Thanks for taking a look! I'll be back tonight with my Blog Hop card.

Baby gift box and card

So this project is one I made almost a year ago and I just now found the pictures in my file and realized I never posted! This little guy is already one year old, but this was a gift for him when he was born.

First up is the card using Polka Dot Basics: I, Fresh Alphabet and a Martha Stewart Little boys set.

I found the box in the unfinished wood section at AC Moore and sanded it a bit and painted it. I then covered it in some of my favorite paper from Basic Grey called Oh Baby!

I cut out some of the elephants and popped them up with foam tape for dimension.

And a final view with contents:

Thinking of You

Continuing in my trend of using only "button bits" stamps, here is a card I made recently. The floral stems come from the set Everyday Button Bits and the paper is from the "Ooh La La for Him" line from My Mind's Eye.

I had a difficult time photographing this card, so the colors are a bit off. It is 5x7 inches and the base is Ocean Tides.

Thanks for looking!

Happy birthday Colin!

My son's 5th birthday was last Sunday and this is the card I made him. He is getting too old now for some of my stamps that are more babyish (cars, airplanes etc) and unfortunately I don't have any Darth Vader or Star Wars stamps, LOL! But luckily for me, everyone loves balloons, so I made him this card:

And you'll have to indulge me as I share a few photos of him from his bug themed-party.

Here he is holding the millipede:

Some bunny loves you!

Hi! Today I have a card that was inspired by my daughter's adorable pjs!

Take a look at them (click on them to see them larger, they are so cute!):

And here's my card:

Cute! I love the soft vintage look of the light pink hearts on cream, so I replicated that using PTI's new Background Basics: Hearts. I then stamped the little bunny from Tiny Treats: Valentine and colored a few portions with my Copics, punched it out and mounted it on a scalloped circle and adhered. Tied my Sweet Blush satin ribbon, stamped my sentiment and called it finished! When I picked it up to photograph it, I smudged it a bit near the bunny...oh well!

Hope you're having a great day!

Heartfelt Thanks

Happy Friday! I'm back with two more thank you cards.
They use Blooming Button Bits again and the sentiment is from Everday Classics (2009 Anniversary set). I loved Betsy Veldman's card design here , so I replicated the layout, changing only a few things.

I am really loving these button sets--I reorganized my buttons and got new jars and shelves from Ikea to accomodate my growing collection.

Hibiscus Burst and Plum Pudding are so fresh with New Leaf--not my favorite color, usually, but I love it here!

Thanks for having a look!

Cupcakes and hearts

When I was playing around with Tiny Treats, I decided to try stamping a background pattern--this is what I came up with. The card is quite simple, but I love those colors together and like how it turned out!

Thank you notes

I've been making a lot of thank you cards in the last week in order to thank all our friends and family for the Christmas gifts we received. Here are some from one batch. I used an image from Blooming Button Bits, the text from Text Style I and the sentiment from Vintage Picnic; and did it four ways with different color combos.

SU!'s Taken with Teal and Raspberry Fizz

Lemon Tart and Ripe Avocado (although I accidentally stamped the text and sentiment with Summer Sunrise)

Melon Berry and Ripe Avocado

And the last--Plum Pudding and Ripe Avocado (love those flower-shaped buttons!)

Thanks for looking!

You take the cake!

Hope your first week in 2010 is off to a good start! I made this card using the cute cupcake image from Tiny Treats: Valentine and paired it with some Basic Grey Nook and Pantry paper. These little images are so cute and I can't wait to make kiddie valentines with them!

I hope to be posting more regularly from now on--I've been making lots of cards, just haven't had the time to blog.

Thanks for coming by,
Melissa

Happy New Year!

Happy 2010 to everyone! I hope this next year will be full of happiness and joy!

I made this card yesterday using some beautiful new digital papers from The Digichick's new collaboration kit called Limitless. I used papers from the portion called Daydreamer. I loved the bold vibrant colors and paired them with some new PTI stamps: Blooming Button Bits and the sentiment is from Big and Bold Wishes.

Here's another look at the bottom as the sentiment is a bit hard to read.

I hope you had a wonderful holiday season!
